The "The Portuguese Californians, Immigrants in Agriculture" by Alvin R. Graves, Ph.D., is still available. We had a tremendous response at the opening presentation in Tulare, in the heart of dairy country, on Friday, March 26th, 2004. Since that time the response has been very positive. Get yours now before they sell out. We can now see the demand for this book has exceeded our expectations. Many good reviews have been received. The consensus is that Dr. Graves did such a fantastic job with the content that this book will live to serve as a cornerstone reference for anyone doing research on the history of immigration into California from this time onward. The additional family stories and pictures serve to personify and connect the statistical information with the real Portuguese immgrant's life. The PHPC team put together a book worthy of the content. Congratulations are in order all around.
You can order this book and the Holy Ghost book on Amazon.com. See our order form. There are limited quantities so don't wait to get your copy. This is a great book tracing the history of the dairy industry in California by looking at the Portuguese farmers that played such an important role. Thank you to all the sponsors that helped make this possible.

They brought with them not only their local traditions, but also an intense desire to succeed in this land of opportunity. More | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
